Okay, let me start with the big news, I did it, I drove the car and, if I may say so myself, I am great at it! While I was in CR I really missed the freedom of having a car and in the days leading up to returning to MN I started to make mental lists of all the drives I would do once I was home. So I am very grateful that the first family that I am dog sitting for out here offered to insure me on their car. Emma and I will be renting a car in Ireland so I knew at some point it would be inevitable and I would have to try it out, but I truly did not think it would be so easy. In retrospect, yes, if you are a confident driver in the States then you can be a confident driver here. But, I am prone to some anxiety and was concerned, so now that I feel just about as confident driving here as I do at home, I think I am going to book some more car rentals ("hire a car") throughout the rest of my stay. When I first planned my trip I knew I would be heavily reliant on public transportation, which was fine because England has great public transport infrastructure, but now that I have again tasted the freedom of a car, I can't go back! - written like weeks ago at the point of posting

I stayed at a house in Penryn, Cornwall and watched a group of 3 little dogs while their parents were away on vacation. The dogs and I spent our days going on long walks (as long of walks as their little legs could take them) and snuggled up on the couch together reading. This area has gorgeous woods, tropical plants, beaches and rocky cliffs. School is also back in full swing now, so I have had to endure hours of that. - written about 1 week less ago than the previous paragraph

Here are pictures from my time in Penryn/Cornwall! There are going to be a lot of dogs in these pics...
