England Pt. 1

Officially 1 month away from returning to the States, and 18 days from Miley Cyrus' new album. Those are my markers of time right now. Since returning from Provence, I have spent the last month house/dog sitting at two properties, one in North Lincolnshire and the other in Norfolk. During this time I have gone on LOTS of walks, truly something that England has gotten so right compared to the States is how many walking paths/foot paths there are for public use. I have visited many National Trust Locations, more ups to England, these properties are so gorgeous and well maintained. It's like having Arboretum level gardens and estates for the public to explore in every town.
Also during this time I have finished my spring semester of classes, woohoo! Now I have 1 class left, Spanish, that I will be taking this summer. Originally, the big exciting thought that started this whole travel plan was that I would be taking my Spanish class while in Costa Rica. But, the course I was registered to was a J-term class that started January 2nd, and unfortunatley I was not in the right headspace at that time to dedicate 6 hours a day to Spanish. So, now after months of traveling all stemmed from that original idea, I will finally be taking my Spanish course, just a little late :) All in all, I should be finally graduating at the end of the summer. Normally I would not put this all out there to set any expectations, but I think I need it to help hold me accountable, and there is no way that I am entering 2026 having not graduated.
Unfortunatley/fortunately this means that I will be on the job hunt when I return home. This part I am not excited about. In my free time I have spent countless hours looking at job boards and it is completely depleating, not to mention the funding that is getting cut from pretty much every envrionmental agency/non-profit supported by the federal government. Any way, if I connect with you on LinkedIn please be kind, I have no idea how the platform works and find the whole idea of networking to be incredibly embarrassing. Also, you will not catch me taking a headshot.
Instead I am choosing to focus on the exciting plans I have for this summer! I will be back in MN for a few days before taking off again, this time on a road trip with my mom and my best friend, Pumba. We have a family wedding out in Idaho which, on it's own will be very fun, but also provides us with the perfect excuse to visit some national parks. We will be hitting up Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier NPs, if you have any recs please hmu! July will be spent mostly in MN, hopefully split between the Twin Cities and the cabin, and potentially another road trip at the end of the month too :) August starts off with a trip north for our Point to La Pointe 2.1 mile swim in Lake Superior. Then 2 weeks spent exploring South Korea with the fam and our closest family friends!
In the more immediate future, I will be spending the next 10 days road tripping through Scotland! I hope to see some great wilderness, cute Highland Cows and try to understand what anyone from Glasgow is saying. Also, on this leg of the journey I will be getting my dry-suit diving certification, I am very excited about this and to be diving again! This time the focus of my dives will be WWII shipwrecks off the very northern coast of Scotland. After my road trip I will be house/dog sitting in the Birmingham area for about a week. Then off to Norway for 10 days! I just booked everything for this final part of my journey and I could not be more excited! Truly the next month is just all gravy, school work is done and now I get to relax a bit and just travel for the sake of travel!
Congratulations, you are one of the very few who have made it this far in the post! As a reward here is joke: Why do ducks have feathers on their tails? To cover their butt quacks. OK that is all I have to say! Love you bye :)
